This is definitely an exciting day! I recently sold my 2003 Honda S2000 and will be using some of the revenue to purchase my very first Jeep. Forget modern technology, comfort, and fuel efficiency. I want a Jeep! Not just any Jeep though, I want an old school Jeep, a 1992 Jeep Wrangler YJ.
Yes you heard right! The boxy Jeep, the Yuppie Jeep, the weird jeep, or whatever else you want to call it. I want it! Now I realize that I am currently using way too many exclamation marks but I really want my excitement to show through. Now due to the age of the vehicle, I obviously will need to do a lot of boring maintenance work. After that, however, comes the cool mods!
My plan is to first add a little class to the Jeep and install a Viper Alarm System. Specifically I will be installing the Viper 5701 alarm unit. To be honest, the only reason I chose this alarm unit is because the remote fob looks wicked cool and you know you need to be styling when you are cruising around in a Jeep. That’s not all though, I will also need to add a touch of luxury to go along with all that class.
In a related fashion, I will be installing power door locks into the doors. The Jeep YJ I purchased came with full doors instead of half doors. I actually really do prefer the full doors! You can acheive power door locks in any vehicle by adding door lock actuators. It really is a simple process and I will go through that process step by step for all to see.
That should be good as an intro for now. I will be back soon with some updates and tutorials on my Jeep Wrangler YJ build.
Be sure to stay tuned!
