Wild Boar Grab Handles for Jeep Wrangler JK

If you own a Jeep, then most likely you either already have or are looking to purchase some grab handles.

Grab handles can be made from paracord, nylon, or several other materials and are usually attached to the Jeep with Velcro. The problem with these Velcro attached handles is that they never really feel all that secure. They usually end up sliding around on the roll bar or sway back and forth when you most need it.

One option that I recently discovered that solves these issues is the use of metal steel grab handles. They are very strong, don’t move around, and are attached to the Jeep with bolts located in factory bolt holes.

So I decided to pick up some Wild Boar Grab Handles and here is how they turned out.

WHAT’S IN THE BOX

Wild Boar Grab HandlesThe Wild Boar Grab Handles that I purchased came with both front and rear sets. I chose to get the red handles because they make a nice accent color for my Anvil Jeep Rubicon but they also come in the more common color black.

The kit includes:

  • Front Driver and Passenger Handles
  • 2x Long Spacers/Bolts for Front Handles
  • 2x Short Spacers/Bolts for Front Handles
  • Rear Driver and Passenger Side Handles
  • 4x Bolts for Rear Handles

This is a pretty basic kit that includes everything you need to install. There are no holes that are needed to drill since all the bolts are attached to factory bolt hole locations.

Installation is a breeze!

HOW TO INSTALL GRAB HANDLES

FRONT GRAB HANDLES

There are two bolts you need to remove on both driver and passenger side. These bolts will need a 13mm socket to remove.

The first bolt is located on the top of the pillar. Please use caution when removing this bolt so that the bolt does not fall behind the pillar. If it does, you will be forced to remove the pillar in order to fish it out. Using pliers may help with undoing that last few turns of this bolt.

The second bolt is located on top near the visor.

Once these bolts are removed, you can move on to installing the bar handles. The short spacer and short bolt needs to be installed on the top hole mount location while the longer spacer and bolt will be installed on the side hole mount location.

To ensure that the bolts line up correctly, start with the top bolts by threading the bolt just a few threads in. This will allow the front Wild Boar Grab Handles to hang freely while you install the side bolt and spacers.

When everything is in place, you can proceed to tighten down both bolts with a 6mm allen socket.

That’s all there is to it for the front handles! Just repeat the same process on the other side.

REAR GRAB HANDLES

If you thought the fronts were easy to install, get ready because the rear grab handles are even easier.

Simply remove the sound bar bolts with a 10mm socket.

The rear grab handles face forward while fitting into the factory sound bar bolt locations. The included grab handle bolts can be installed with a 5mm allen socket.

That’s it! I told you it was easy!
